AUDITIONS

Are you interested in BISFA? Below you’ll find everything you need to apply, prepare, and audition for our Art Disciplines offered at BISFA!

APPLY

SUBMIT AN APPLICATION OF INTEREST: Complete the WCPS High School Magnet Application for 2026-27 School Year by December 6, 2025!
 

• To increase your chances, it is recommended students apply for two (2) disciplines
  • If accepted into both, the student will select which program to attend
• Applying and auditioning for a program does not guarantee acceptance
• For best results, complete the application on a computer rather than a phone

PREPARE

PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION/PORTFOLIO REVIEW:​​​​ Download & review the Audition Materials for your discipline(s) – each program has individualized requirements and additional directions you'll need to follow before and during your audition! 
 

• Read your audition materials carefully and arrive fully prepared

• Every student who applies will have the opportunity to audition and/or submit a portfolio, based on department requirements

• Vocal Music applicants must also submit a Musical School Director Recommendation

Audition

Auditions are highly competitive and grow more so each year – arrive fully prepared!
 

• In early January, an email will be sent to both the student and parent (using your email addresses provided in the interest application) with assigned dates, times, and locations.

• Auditions will be conducted at BISFA on three Saturdays in January and the first two Saturdays in February

• Plan to arrive 15 minutes early for check-in – all auditions are closed (parents may wait in the lobby or drop off their student)

SELECTION

• After auditions, portfolio reviews, and interviews are complete, the BISFA team will make final recommendations

• Placement decision letters will be sent by U.S. mail no later than March 13, 2026
